(HOW-TO) Edit The Conversation Window

The default window for the ChatStat Conversation Windows can be edited. To do this, go to the Features on Demand Panel (FOD) and select Logo & Conversation Window Control:

The window should automatically go to the Manage Chat Window templates:

You will see the following options:

  • Select Website - Select the website for which you want to edit the Conversation Window. If you have multiple websites to support, you can switch between websites and load different templates for each of them.
  • Select a Template - The default option is the Default Template. When you create templates, they will be listed here. You can enable them by clicking on "Set Active".

To create a new template for the conversation window, click on the "Create Chat Window Template" on the left side of the Features Menu. You will see many options which you may use to edit your window:

Window Control

The options below will edit the first screen users see before they chat with you and before they insert their information. These options will also edit the text shown when you are either available or unavailable for chat:

  • Operators Online Text - Text displayed when you are available for chat.
  • Operators Offline Text - Text displayed when you are unavailable for chat.
  • Callback Text - Text displayed under the Callback feature.
  • Skype Text - Text displayed when the Skype Callback feature is selected.
  • Chat Bar Text - Text displayed on the "Chat With Me Now" Bar.
  • Callback Bar Text - Text displayed on the Callback Bar section.
  • Skype Bar Text - Text displayed on the Callback Skype section.
  • Transcript and Collection Text - Text displayed before the chat has occured, asking visitors if they want a transcript.

Window Control

The options below are for the Information Collection Window step where your visitors insert their information such as Email, Name, Question, etc.:

  • Name Text - Text displayed asking for the visitor's name.
  • Option By Department - Text displayed asking visitor to choose a department.
  • Question Text - Text displayed asking visitor for their question(s).
  • Email Text - Text displayed asking for visitor's email.
  • Option By Operator - Text displayed asking visitor to choose an operator.
  • Start Chat Text - Text displayed to initate chat.
  • Conversation Window Text - Text displayed when system is searching for an available operator.
  • Help Text - Text displayed on the operator's side when a call is made.

Window Control

These options edit the text which is displayed for callback purposes:

  • Name Text - Text displayed asking visitor for their name.
  • Option By Department - Text displayed asking visitor to choose a department.
  • Department Text - Text displaying department.
  • Question Text - Text asking visitor's question.
  • United States Text - Text displaying US queries.
  • Send Callback Text - Text for callback submit.
  • Email Text - Text asking for visitor's email.
  • Option By Operator - Text asking visitor to choose an operator.
  • Operator Text - Text displaying operator.
  • Phone Number Text - Text asking for visitor's phone number.
  • International Text - Text displaying International queries.
  • Disable Phone Number Callback Messages - Choosing this option will disable any callbacks made from your visitors who are requesting to be called back from a phone.

Window Control

These options will edit the text for the Skype Callback feature. You must have Callback with Skype feature enabled in ChatStat's Feature on Demand (FOD) menu to display this window:

  • Name Text - Text asking for visitor's name.
  • Option By Deparment - Text asking visitor to choose a department.
  • Department Text - Text displaying department.
  • Question Text - Text asking for visitor's question.
  • Skype Handle - Text asking for visitor's Skype name.
  • Option By Operator - Text asking visitor to choose an operator.
  • Operator Text - Text displaying an operator.
  • Start Chat Text - Text for Send Callback Submit.

Window Control

  • Background Color - Color for the background of windows.
  • Background Image URL - Image URL for background.
  • Background Image Repeat - If you added a background image, you can display it using repeat for big images or using a small image and having it repeat many times.
  • Global Font Settings - Font colors for text in every window displayed (Skype Callback, Info Collection Window, etc...).
  • Visitor Message Font Settings - Visitor's font color displayed when chatting with an operator.
  • System Message Font Settings - System's font color displayed in chat or messages before or after the chat.
  • Operator Message Font Settings - Operator's font color when chatting with visitors.

Window Control

  • Powered By Image - During chat, a header image will be displayed above the chat area between you and the visitor. You can change the default setting into any image you want.

SAVE TEMPLATE AS - DON'T FORGOT TO NAME AND SAVE YOUR TEMPLATE!
