Grid View [F8]
The Grid View option allows you to switch the ChatStat system from INSTANT MESSENGER mode to FULL SCREEN mode.
Users can use the F8 function key (usually located above and to the right of the number 8 on your keyboard). Pushing this button repeatedly switches between IM mode and GRIDVIEW mode. Please note it takes a few seconds to fully update.
The primary differences between these two modes is that the full screen GRIDVIEW mode can display more data, provide larger snapshots of visual cobrowsing, show more visitors, and allow you to use filtering so you can monitor 1000’s of visitors to your site.
If you have lots of visitors, GridView is a great way to get the most out of your screen real estate. But, don't worry, you can switch back to the small footprint IM MODE very easily.
Individual Components of Gridview
1. GRIDVIEW WEB SITE VISITOR LISTING AREA
This is the expanded list of IP addresses. In GRIDVIEW, all IPs for all sites you are monitoring are placed in one giant list. You can then use the following COLUMN HEADERS to sort the data in any manner you choose:
- DISPLAY IP - This column shows the display IP ADDRESS. Select an IP ADDRESS and the information regarding that IP address will appear in the ADVANCED INFO window.
- LANGUAGE - This column shows the language selected by the visitor before conducting the chat.
- OPERATING SYSTEM - This column shows the browser currently used by the visitor.
- BROWSER TYPE - This column shows the browser selected by the visitor before conducting the chat.
- ACTIVE TIME - The total time the visitor has stayed on your WEBSITE.
- STATUS - This column only has two possible types of data: Helped or Un-Helped. If the field says they are helped, it will also indicate which operator helped them. If the field says, un-helped, it means no operator has provided assistance. If you like, you may double-click on this visitor's IP address to start a conversation.
- WEBSITE - This column is only useful if you are monitoring more than one website. If you are monitoring more than one website at the same time, the site the visitor is on will appear in this column.
- CURRENT URL - This column contains a chronological list of each of the pages your visitors have seen in the order in which the visitor viewed the pages.
2. OPERATOR LISTING AREA
This is the operator listing area. Here you will find all of your fellow operators, for all sites which you monitor. Your operator collegues will be able to speak with you easily, and you will also be able to speak with them. To speak with another operator, simply double-click on their name. To find out more information about that operator, like which department they are in, or who they are currently helping, select their name and then click on the small +/- info button next to their name. If there is no +/- info button, there is no further info available, and they are not currently helping anyone.
3. INSTANT MESSENGER BUDDY LIST
Here you will find a list of all of your instant messenger buddies.
4. OPTIONAL: VISUAL PAGE THUMBNAILS FEATURE ON DEMAND
If you have optionally enabled the VISUAL PAGE THUMBNAILS Feature on Demand, then a small thumbnail representation of the page the selected visitor is on is displayed here. If the visitor moves to another page, it will update to show you the current page every eight seconds.

5. BASIC DATA DISPLAY
ChatStat places redundant basic data about the visitor here, so you can easily determine which IP you are looking at without having to deduce it from the VISITOR'S LIST.
6. REFERRAL INFORMATION DATA DISPLAY
This area contains three fields:
This is the expanded list of IP addresses. In GRIDVIEW, all IPs for all sites you are monitoring are placed in one giant list. You can then use the following COLUMN HEADERS to sort the data in any manner you choose:
- REFERRING URL - The URL the visitor arrived from.
- REFERRING SEARCH ENGINE - If the referrer is a search engine, it is displayed here.
- REFERRING KEYWORD - If the referrer is a search engine, the exact keyword the visitor used to find your website will be shown here.
7. INCOMING LIVE CHAT REQUEST
This is the shortcut to view any incoming chat requests on your website. Click this anytime to see if there are still visitors waiting to be connected to an operator.
8. IM CONTROL BAR
This bar will indicate which of the seven(7) instant messengers we support to which you are connected to at any given time. If you look closely at each icon you will see it is either in color or in gray. If it's in color, it's connected. If it's in grey, it's disconnected. Hover over an IM icon and it will tell you the name of itself. Right-click on it to make settings or to INDIVIDUALLY control the status of each of the instant messenger mediums.
9. CHATSTAT STATUS INFO BAR
This area will tell you the status of ChatStat (either Online, Offline, or Away) and also the account under which you are signed in.
10. SERVER STATUS
You can view ChatStat's Server Status in real time (Account Server, Web Chat Server, and Web Visitor Server).
